Abstract

This article analyzes the theoretical foundations of the concept of regional export
potential, as well as the stages of its formation and evolutionary development. Within the
framework of the study, the economic essence of the category of export potential is examined from
the perspectives of classical, neoclassical, and modern economic theories, and its interrelation with
the factors of regional development is substantiated. In particular, regional export potential is
interpreted as a combination of complex factors, including production resources, infrastructure,
innovation capacity, institutional environment, and the level of integration with external markets.
The article examines the step-by-step evolution of regional export potential, identifying
trends in its transition from an initial resource-based model to an innovation-driven and
competitiveness-oriented model. It also analyzes new manifestations of export potential in the
context of globalization and digital transformation, including aspects related to the production of
high value-added goods, the development of logistics systems, and the expansion of service
exports.
